Volunteer Your Time
A good way to help your daughter’s troop would be to volunteer your time. Even with a small group, extra hands are necessary and always helpful. As a troop, we are required to have a minimum of two adults present at all meetings and troop functions. We understand that you will not be able to attend every meeting or function, but your presence can ensure that all of our girls have a fun, safe and enriching experience in Girl Scouts. Please select a few of the meetings that work well in your schedule. Let me know which meetings or activities you can attend to assist us.
Register for an Upcoming Event
Fun activities are a great way to get people involved. Sometimes your involvement, help with supervision or simply transportation will make the difference in making a great activity. The chances of all of the girls in the troop fitting in one vehicle isn't very likely, so when a field trip requires a longer drive, it is necessary to have a second (or third) vehicle to transport our troops.
Special Skills
There are many direct and indirect tasks that need to be done to run a troop that require special skills. If you have a special skill, offering your special skill to help the girl scout troop would be a great way to volunteer. Perhaps you have a specialized profession such as a nurse, doctor, or dentist. Perhaps you are an artist, potter, horseback rider, or have some other skill that you may want to share with our troop.
Perhaps you want to tackle an indirect background task. For example, a web designer offered the background task to make and support this website for us to use and communicate.
Talk to us, the girls love to learn about careers, observe special skills and we have many tasks that need special talents to make this troop strong!
Make a Donation
Our Cookie sales are our main source of funding our girl scout activities. Even with this funding source, the supplies used for the girls can get pretty costly. Donating items like, crayons, construction paper, scissors, and other items for crafts can really help. Even supplies like printer ink to help with the cost of printing out their papers would be welcome.
